In a world where everyone claims to be the #1 and the competition is tight, it’s difficult to differentiate and build your own identity. It’s difficult, but not impossible.
Wanting to stand out from your competition but struggling to get cut through? You may be making a few fundamental mistakes that are stopping you from standing out and building a memorable brand.
1. No niche
By not niching down you are missing the opportunity to speak directly to your ideal audience. Perhaps you’re fearful that niching down may actually cut you off from new opportunities but in fact you are just getting lost in the bigger ‘general’ crowd.
2. Unclear message
Without getting crystal clear about what you want to be known for and sharing this in an easy to remember way, your audience is simply not understanding what it is you do, who you do it for and why you do it.
If you aren’t clear, how do you expect your audience to be?
3. It’s all the same same
Does you’re branding reflect what is unique about you? Or does it just look and sound the same as everyone else? Your visuals should give people a feeling of what it is like to work with you and breathe your personality.
What you do, what you say, where and when you say it. Everything you do is an expression of your brand. By being inconsistent you miss the opportunity to be memorable and to build connection. Not only that, but you kinda look disorganised, which doesn’t help establish trust.
If you want people to invest in you, then you need to invest in yourself first.
Constantly looking for ways to improve, grow and show up more professionally.
